Description

The young girl, Amra, stood on the side of the main road, tears streaming down her face. An older woman, presumably her mother, stood beside her, shivering from the cold. Amra's attention was suddenly drawn to a car that had parked nearby, and she anxiously awaited the occupant's arrival.

The driver of the car, clearly agitated, stormed out and reprimanded Amra. He struck her and berated her for standing by the road. Aliyu, the man in the car, stepped out with his young daughter, Auta, who immediately approached Amra with a gentle touch. Despite her father's disapproval, Auta expressed kindness and introduced herself, and Amra reciprocated.

Their brief encounter was cut short when Aliyu forcibly pulled Auta away from Amra, criticizing the young girl for her disheveled appearance. Amra, undeterred, knelt before him and pleaded for assistance, explaining their dire circumstances. However, Aliyu responded with more aggression, striking Amra once again.

Auta, torn between her concern for Amra and her father's commands, attempted to reason with him, but her efforts were futile. Disheartened, Auta retrieved some food and money from her bag and offered them to Amra. She expressed her frustration with her father and rushed back to Amra's side.

Despite her mother's condition and her own distress, Amra managed to stand up, and Auta offered her some encouraging words and a ring. Grateful for Auta's kindness, Amra accepted the gift and expressed her heartfelt thanks. As the car drove away, Amra stood, wincing in pain and holding her injured hip, contemplating their next move.

"Mom, maybe my hip bone is broken," she murmured as she opened the bus box, preparing for their uncertain journey ahead.
